Viesturs Silvestrs Grants (dz. 1926) – mākslinieks, grafiķis, vairāk kā 300 grāmatu ilustrāciju autors, ar grafiku nodarboja kopš 1952.gada. Ir Latvijas Mākslinieku savienības biedrs (1973) un vairāk kā 60 gadus ar savu mākslinieka rokrakstu papildinājis un veidojis Latvijas grāmatu vizuālo kultūru. Grāmatu mākslas konkursā "Zelta ābele 2009" Viesturam Grantam piešķirta balva par mūža ieguldījumu grāmatniecībā.

Romānā „Dumpīgā Rīga” attēlotais laikposms ir tā saucamais „kalendāra nemieru” laiks no 1584. līdz 1589. gadam; tajā darbojas daudz reālu vēsturisku personu. Viestura Granta ilustrācijas ar smalku grafiskās stilizācijas meistarību atveido vēsturiskā laikmeta notikumus un tēlus.
